I picked this topic to explore the current state of affairs regarding drug abuse in our society. My family has a history of addiction centering around (but not limited to) substance abuse and I believe that part of the difficulty in finding a path to a better future is a lack of education. This can be exposed and explored through the display and sorting of related data.

I believe trends can add missing context and help provide points of focus for potential application of ideas to solve a given problem, and I hope that I can further my own understanding of the problem that drugs create in our society, further the conversation regarding affected communities, or potentially gain some knowledge regarding where the problem may be centered if not the actual users being harmed.
